The Workforce Boards of Metropolitan Chicago, conducted a Hospitality, Tourism, and Destination Retail summit that brought together key stakeholders in the sector to address the short-term and long-term workforce needs and to create recommendations to meet those needs.
The Summary report highlights the needs identified at the summit.
These needs have been addressed at a DuPage County Focus Group that brought together stakeholders from the county to discuss the issues in DuPage County. The Workforce Development Committee of the DuPage Convention and Visitor's Bureau took responsibility to start working on solutions.
In follow up to the regional summit, the chicago Workforce Board has issues a report entitled Career Pathways and Crosswalks in the Hotel, Retail and Restaurant Industries which is available at www.workforceboardsmetrochicago.com.
