Youth Council
Critical to workforce development in DuPage County is the youth component. The youth of today are the workforce of tomorrow. Recognizing the importance of the development and strengthening of the future workforce, the Board will take a leadership role in youth workforce development initiatives.
What do we want to accomplish?
Ensure that youth 16-24 have the academic and core competencies required by employers and that they are servced by a networked system that enhances their ability to enter the workforce and start on a career pathway.
What will success look like?
- Foster coordination among education, workforce development and youth service providers in DuPage County.
- Involve the business community in preparing youth for the workforce.
- Build community partnerships that help connect youth to channels supporting employment opportunities and career education.
